5K Fun, Run, Walk is an opportunity
for NRPA members to stay fit, meet delegates, and enjoy a beautiful start to the
day in Atlanta’s premiere community park - Piedmont Park. On the Registry for Historic Places, Atlanta’s
premiere community park boasts 180+ acres. The natural beauty of the park will
inspire you during your Fun Run Walk and remind you to keep your health and the
health of parks at the top of your agenda. America’s
Backyard is your prescription for good health. Improving your
health is as easy as a walk or a run in the park—throw on your sneakers and
join people from across the country for the 2011 5K Fun Run & Walk for
Parks and Recreation. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Georgia Park and
Recreation Association and go towards supporting parks and recreation in the
U.S. through the National Recreation and Park Association’s “America’s Backyard”
initiative. Proceeds will be split 50/50 with the local host. For the first time this year, we are opening the event
to the general public and including a Corporate Team Competition. The team may
be as large as they like, but must have a minimum of four members. Team members
must register under the same group name so we can accurately track team's time.
The team who has four of their runners finish first will be the winner. We will
also reward the team with the greatest number of participants. ·
